Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while local people in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered problems to water systems, as stated by municipal leaders.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was killed in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in providing protection systems and implementing restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen projectiles attacked energy facilities, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, according to local officials.

Area administrators said the urban area endured heavy assaults overnight. A minor died and multiple civilians were injured.

The strikes follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to identify.

Government officials told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were bracing for more assaults.
